The Delhi HC will conduct the next CLAT 2025 hearing on April 7. The Delhi HC had earlier ruled that two answers in the CLAT 2025 answer key must be revised and directed the Consortium of National Law Universities to publish revised CLAT 2025 results. While candidates remain anxious about the fate of their final score, it is comforting to know that the CLAT 2025 cut-offs will not change due to the revised results. However, the revised result will have an impact on whether the candidate can clear the NLU cut-off or not. In this article let us find out why this is so, and also know the expected cut-off trends for top NLUs.
In Set A of the CLAT 2025 question paper, the answer to question no. 14 has been changed from D to C. Question no 100 has been withdrawn altogether. The candidate’s score due to the revision of two answers will change as below.
Candidate Answer | Marks Awarded for Revision | Impact on Negative Marks Due to Revision | Final Impact on CLAT 2025 Marks |
If your answer is C | +1 mark | +0.25 marks | +1.25 marks |
If your answer is D | -1 mark | -0.25 marks | -1.25 marks |
If your answer is A or B | No change | No change | No change |
Candidate Answer | Marks Awarded for Revision | Impact on Negative Marks Due to Revision | Final Impact on CLAT 2025 Marks |
If your answer is D | -1 mark | 0 | -1 mark |
Any other option | 0 | +0.25 mark | +0.25 marks |
The CLAT 2025 cut-off for each NLU will be determined independently of any revision in the result. Therefore, the cut-off rank will not change due to the revised results. Premier NLUs such as NLSIU Bengaluru and NALSAR Hyderabad will continue to have high cut-offs.
However, the revised CLAT 2025 result is expected to impact the candidate’s chances of clearing the cut-off for any particular NLU. The analysis of the changes in the answer key shows that a candidate’s marks will increase by 1.5 marks in the best-case scenario and decrease by 2.25 marks in the worst-case scenario. Due to change in marks, the candidates’ ranks are also expected to change which in turn will have an impact on the candidates’ chances of admission.
The CLAT cut-off rank is the rank of the last candidate who got admission into a particular NLU in a particular round of CLAT 2025 counselling. The NLU cut-offs are determined by factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of students who appeared in the exam, seat availability, and the CLAT reservation criteria.

Best case scenario | +1.5 marks |
Worst case scenario | -1.5 marks |
